Directions to Durham and the Events

The main page includes this link to a detailed map of the area, and a version of the map on the right. In words however, Durham is at the intersection of Hwy 6 and Hwy 4. How you get there depends on where you come from of course, but Hwy 10 from Toronto, left on Hwy 4 is one way. Or simply follow Hwy 6 up from the south. From the London area, Hwy 23 to Harriston is an option, and then Hwy 89 east, then north to Hwy 6.

Durham is a small town, with highways 4 (east/west) and 6 (north/south) intersecting just south of the river -- see this map. There is a big hill rising from the north side of the river. At the top of the hill is Durham Road East -- with the Durham Conservation Area (it is sign posted as such) a couple of kilometers east. This is the location of the sprint.

Durham Road West (from the top of the hill) joins Hwy 4 (which jogs north then west on the edge of town), and is the way out to the medium. Follow it west past 30th Sideroad, Mulock Road, to Allan Park Road. Turn south, go one concession, and the park entrance is just to the west of the intersection with Concession 2 Sideroad. Note that it is probably not a good idea to approach Allan Park from the south on Sideroad 20 / Allan Park Road, as that degenerates to a single track dirt road in the area of the park.

To get from the medium to the sprint, go north on Allan Park road to Hwy 4, turn right, follow it to the west edge of Durham, then just as the road swings south, turn left onto Durham Road West (which immediately curves to go east here), follow it a couple of blocks to Hwy 6, cross to Durham Road East, and the conservation area is a couple of kilometers on the east of town, with the entrance on the south side of the road. If you miss the Durham Road West turning, you'll meet Hwy 6 a few hundred meters later while still on Hwy 4. Turn left (north) on Hwy 6, up the hill, and follow the conservation area sign to the right at the top, onto Durham Road East.

Field in area of long course

To get to the start of the long, it is perhaps easiest to drive into Durham, turn east on Hwy 4 (bottom of the hill, south side of the river), and follow it out to Baseline Road (the first concession after the big S-bend, at a guess about 3km from town), and turn south. Drive approximately 2km south to the intersection with South Line, and turn east. The start / finish is about half way along to the next intersection, at an old farmhouse. If you overshoot Baseline Road on Hwy 4, or are coming from the east, you can take Camp Oliver Road south (there's a sign post for New Life Camp) to South Line, and turn west to the start / finish area.
